Reichman University
For nearly two decades, The Asper Foundation has partnered with Reichman University (formerly IDC Herzliya) to advance innovative media, storytelling, and public diplomacy that share Israel’s story with the world. In 2007, the Foundation established the Asper Institute for New Media Diplomacy at the Sammy Ofer School of Communications, a pioneering hub that trains students to use emerging media technologies for advocacy. Through courses, workshops, and hands-on production of video, audio, written content, and platforms such as NoCamels and Asper International Radio, the Institute has equipped hundreds of students to communicate Israel’s innovation, culture, and democratic values to global audiences.
Building on this long-standing collaboration, The Asper Foundation has, over the past two years, supported the development of RiseApp, a university-born initiative created at Reichman to help Jewish communities navigate a new era of rising antisemitism and digital misinformation. RiseApp sits within Reichman University and bridges academic research, digital platforms, and community partnerships in one loop of action and evidence—equipping Jewish communities worldwide with tools, data, and training to counter antisemitism and foster resilience.
RiseApp draws on the university’s exceptional expertise in media, public diplomacy, counterterrorism, and the study of global antisemitism. Grounded in research from leading scholars and institutes across the university—spanning communications, government, diplomacy, and the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism—it translates years of academic knowledge into a practical, wide-based initiative that directly serves communities. The platform provides trusted information, curated educational content, and local events and services, giving individuals and organizations concrete tools to strengthen Jewish life and respond to hate with clarity and confidence.
Together, the Asper Institute for New Media Diplomacy and RiseApp embody the evolution of The Asper Foundation’s partnership with Reichman University: from training students to tell Israel’s story in the age of new media, to building a next-generation digital infrastructure for global Jewish resilience. By bringing together research, media innovation, public diplomacy training, and counterterrorism expertise, this collaboration is laying the foundation for The Asper Center for Public Diplomacy and a scalable, research-driven response to antisemitism worldwide.
