The Asper Foundation Announces Major Gift to Maccabi World Union
July 17, 2022 – The Asper Foundation announced a major gift of $2,500,000 US to Maccabi World Union (MWU), one the world’s largest and oldest Jewish and Zionist organizations. The gift will be used to support MWU’s new Asper Maccabi House, opening later this year, which will operate global education and leadership training initiatives as well as a new Museum of Jewish Sports. The Asper Foundation Announces $400,000 Gift for Food Aid
July 6, 2022 – The Asper Foundation announced a gift of $400,000 to the Canadian Committee for the Tel Aviv Foundation. The donation establishes The Asper Foundation Food Project which provides food security assistance through 11,500 food baskets being distributed to families of asylum seekers in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality is matching this support which doubles the number of families being provided with food aid.

Establishment of The Asper Clean Water Fund at Tel Aviv University
June 8, 2022 – The Asper Foundation announced a gift of over $400,000 US to the Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University to establish The Asper Clean Water Fund at Tel Aviv University (TAU). October 18, 2021 – The Hebrew University Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship – ASPER-HUJI Innovate, Yale University and East Carolina University received a prestigious international prize being named an Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Center for schools with more than 5,000 students. May 3, 2021 – The Asper Award for Global Entrepreneurship is given annually by the Asper Center for Global Entrepreneurship to a person who best exemplifies Brandeis International Business School’s values of marrying entrepreneurial success with a global vision, cultural sensitivity and giving back to the world. The 2021 award recipient is Deval L. Law alumni, students, contribute to charity in remarkable way
May 16, 2019 – When Gail Asper stepped onstage in the role of Donna, an aging hippie whose daughter Sophie is determined to identify her real father through the music of ABBA, the audience roared, whistled and cheered. For the next two hours, the respected Winnipeg lawyer, philanthropist and President and Trustee of the Asper Foundation delivered a solid performance, acting, singing and dancing alongside more than 30 other members of Manitoba’s legal community in Mamma Mia!, this year’s Lawyers Play. The annual production took place May 7 to 11 at the Tom Hendry Warehouse and featured a number of sparkling costumes that included bell bottoms and platform boots. See article here.
